16th-Apr-2013 12:39 am - A new favorite show for me
More please!
I'm watching the second airing of the series premiere of Defiance and holy crap is this my new favorite show! If you're a sci-fi fan like me, you should definitely check it out. There's enough explosions, fights, and general badassery for the guys, and enough love (both familial love and romantic love) for the girls. Plus, I can't wait to see the gorgeous and talented Gale Harold in his recurring (sp?) role. The only thing that would make this better is if the gorgeous and talented Jake Abel also landed himself a recurring role. Holy crap would that make my day, for the two of them ended up on the same show...never mind if they ended up doing scenes together. I'd probably faint from the level of hotness onscreen!

...why did it have to be The Host? As big of a Twilight fan as I am, the movies would've been SO much better had Emily been playing Bella as opposed to Kristen. Granted, Emily is not an Oscar or Academy Award-caliber actress (at least not yet), but I've no doubt that the movies wouldn't have been such a joke to the non-fans had Emily been cast as Bella. More than likely, non-fans would've said something akin to, "Oh, I don't think the books were that good, but the movies are SO much better!" If you don't believe me, go and watch The Uninvited, all the way to the end. She was so very New Moon-era Bella right there, without even realizing it!

Seeing Emily in The Host as Pet/Wanda makes me want to write this Host/Twilight crossover I've had in the back of my mind for awhile now...well, it's sort of a crossover. IDK how else to describe it.

JT @ VanGard
Hey to all my f-listers? How were your holidays?
Mine were pretty quiet, aside from an instance from my dad being an asshole for Christmas. My mom gave me some money for Christmas, even though it was a bit belated, and I spent it on books. I've read about half of them, and I've got a few more to go. I'm always looking for new books to read, so if you have any suggestions that you think I might like, I'm open to hearing them, especially if they're YA books. I love me a good YA book. ;~)
Oh, here's what I picked up, in case you're wondering:
Ironside - Holly Black
Keeping The Moon, Dreamland & The Truth About Forever - Sarah Dessen
Hush, Hush & Crescendo - Becca Fitzpatrick
Divergent - Veronica Roth
The Secret Circle: The Initiation and The Captive Part I - L.J. Smith
Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion - Mark Cotta Vaz
25th-Dec-2012 07:02 am - Christmas Wishlist 2012
Jalice
So I'm posting my Christmas wishlist, on the off-chance someone's feeling generous and would be willing to send me something. The last few Christmases I've posted this thing, I've gotten at least something small, which was worth it in my opinion. So, without further ado, here it is:
1) Queer As Folk: Brian and Justin - Icons or a wallpaper are preferred.
2) Twilight saga: Edward & Bella (portrayed by Robert Pattinson & Emily Browning) - Would love anything, whether it's icons, a wallpaper, header/banner, fanmix, etc.
3) Twilight series: Jacob & Renesmee (portrayed Steven Strait & Mackenzie Foy) - Again, I would love anything.
4) Twilight saga: Emmett & Rosalie (portrayed by Kellan Lutz & Amber Heard) - Icons are most preferred.
5) Twilight saga: Carlisle & Esme (portrayed by Peter Facinelli & Rachel McAdams) - Icons are most preferred.
6) Twilight saga: Masen Black & Felicity Miller (OC's; portrayed by Taylor Lautner & Danielle Panabaker) - Icons, manips or a wallpaper are preferred.
7) Twilight saga: Alex Marcus-Whitley & Sadie Black (OC's; portrayed by Chace Crawford & Camilla Belle) - Icons, manips or a wallpaper are preferred.
8) Twilight saga: Embry & Sophie Hale (OC; portrayed by Kiowa Gordon & Hayden Panatierre) - Icons, manips or a wallpaper are preferred.
9) Twilight saga: Seth & Anna Dwyer (OC; portrayed by Boo Boo Stewart & Alexis Bledel) - Icons, manips or a wallpaper are preferred.
10) Mortal Instruments saga: Clary Fray (portrayed by Kay Panabaker) - Icons or a wallpaper are preferred.

1st-Dec-2012 07:54 pm - Had an interesting day today
Jalice
So, I had an interesting day.
This morning, I went with my grandmother to go pay some bills, since her health is declining and she doesn't like to walk a lot, due to having broken both hips (on separate occasions) several years ago. Unfortunately, with it being the weekend, most of the places were closed. Not too discouraged, after we were done, we went to breakfast - or, rather, brunch - at a local waffle place.
It was while we were finishing up eating that a guy came up to me, a slightly older gentleman. It turned out that his name was Oliver Bonewits (probably a pseudonym) and he was a published author, and I had inspired a character he was writing, which, if I'm not mistaken, was a witch...but apparently not an evil one. Then he had his daughter take a picture of me...a picture that, I can only assume was not a very flattering one, considering how I looked - all frizzy-haired, with glasses and acne all over my face.
He gave me his card, which I showed to my grandmother as I told her what he'd said. Of course, her being the old-fashioned Christian woman she is, declared vampires to be 'of the devil.' Ugh, when is she going to understand that when she says stuff like this to me, I don't care! It's like the time she tried to tell me I was dressed like a slut just because I was wearing a v-neck shirt! So aggravating!
Oh, she also gave me a bit of money to get something for Christmas with, since she's on Social Security, so I picked up City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare, the fourth book in the Mortal Instruments series. I would've picked up Clockwork Angel - the first book in the prequel series, The Infernal Devices - but it was only in hardcover and I like all my books in a series to be the same, so I'll have to wait on that one. Plus, I have it on my hard-drive in PDF format, and I've been meaning to read it, so I guess this is as good a time as any.
18th-Nov-2012 03:30 pm - Fifty Shades of funny
More please!

I might actually buy the Fifty Shades trilogy if this guy was narrating the audio books.
More please!
First Breaking Dawn Part II being released, then The Host trailer comes out, and now The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones has been released. What's next? A Queer As Folk reunion with Randy Harrison AND Gale Harold? Or, more likely, Damon and Elena from the Vampire Diaries becoming an actual couple?
BTW, here's the Mortal Instruments trailer, if anyone's interested:
More please!
Once again, Ms. Patsavas has compiled another soundtrack of songs that are quickly becoming favorites of mine.
Is anyone else feeling teh love? Because I sure as hell am.
I sense some possible fanfic inspiration in the near future, and not just for the Twilight fandom either, especially with that Christina Perri song. *sighs happily*
As a special treat, I'd like to share a little something I found on YouTube. It's a song that was written for the movie but obviously not chosen for the soundtrack. Here's to hoping it ends up as a bonus track.
